Tyler Burdick’s essay, entitled, “Freedom’s Challenge,” won first place in the ‘Voice of Democracy’ contest sponsored by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2524. Burdick read his essay at their Loyalty Day Banquet to an audience of veterans of foreign wars, community award recipients and their guests on May 5 in Culpeper.

Not just good with words, Tyler also son the VFW’s TjiHiop Auxiliary sponsored ‘American Patriotic Art’ contest.
