So said jail time would disrupt the men’s full-time jobs and possibly endanger their immigration status. Foley answered that those are not his concerns. The judge added that the three have had several other traffic offenses before these.
“None of you are angels,” Foley said. “You’re all familiar with traffic court.”
In the end, the judge decided to impose $500 fines on each of them, a 90-day restriction on their driver’s licenses and 60 days in jail with 56 days suspended. Foley said they can serve the jail time during a weekend of their choosing.
