Leesburg-based SandEnergy will teach festival attendees how to achieve some independence over their energy use by utilizing solar power.
Representatives ' from Madison-based RASP Technologies will be at the festival to talk about how they make biodiesel from locally grown agricultural products.
Jordan River Farm owner Cory Koral is donating his land for the festival and will also be giving tours of his solar-powered house. Since April, Koral has been living off the electric grid. Those at the festival will be able to see how he has managed to do it.
Festival organizers hope these alternative energy presentations will educate people about ways to meet their needs without burning fossil fuels and building more steel towers for more power lines.
