The focus of the Power Line Awareness Festival will obviously be Dominion Virginia Power’s proposal to build another 500,000-volt electric corridor in Rappahannock County. But the event, which starts at 2 p.m. on Oct. 20 at Jordan River Farm in Huntly, will also feature several presentations about alternative energy.
The entire event will be powered by DTI Solar, a Richmond company that provides solar power for projects that are not connected to the electric grid.
Brad Schneider will speak about Recovered Energy Resources, which is based in the Town of Washington. Schneider’s company specializes in finding innovative ways to turn waste into power through a process called gasification.
