Fifty-six large bags bulging with goodies were shuttled through the county last Thursday. Volunteers unloaded the bounties at senior citizens’ doorsteps, delivering a holiday assortment of food, necessities and presents.
About a dozen volunteers showed up at the Washington fire house on Thursday afternoon to pile grapefruits, apples, pasta and other foods in heavyduty grocery bags. They dropped in basics such as paper towels, and topped it all off with wrapped holiday presents.
