Super Sitters Workshop

Rappahannock County 4-H is offering a Super Sitters’ workshop. This program is geared to teach 12 to 19-year -olds how to become great babysitters. Participants will learn skills to help them work well with children of various ages and abilities, hyper or unhappy children, knowing when to call the parents, safety concerns, knowing what to charge per hour, and learning a bag of tricks that they can take with them to any babysitting job. Plus, any parent would be excited to hire someone who has taken this workshop. This workshop is FREE for anyone 12-19 years of age. Once we have at least five people interested in participating, we will schedule a Sat. for participants to meet for one six hour day. Holiday Food Drive at Gray Ghost

Gray Ghost is sponsoring a holiday food drive to benefit the Culpeper Food Closet. All non-perishable food and monetary donations qualify you for a drawing to receive free tickets to one of Gray Ghost’s popular events! Winners will be contacted by phone and the tickets will be mailed. Gray Ghost is located at 14706 Lee Highway in Amissville and can be contacted at 540-937-4869.

Norway Spruce Trees for sell

Hearthstone’s self-serve Christmas Tree Stand is now open in the school parking lot, featuring beautiful Norway Spruce trees donated by Moosehill Farm. Trees are $40 each. All proceeds go to Hearthstone. For more information call the school office at 540-987-9212

Dec. 20: RCHS Winter Concert

On Thursday, Dec. 20, at 7 p.m., the Rappahannock County High School Bands, conducted by Director Matt Yonkey, will perform their Winter Concert in the high school auditorium. This much-anticipated event will include a holiday performance by the concert band, followed by an intermission, and concluding with a special performance by the jazz band. Seasonal refreshments will be provided in the lobby during intermission by the Band Boosters. The public is cordially invited to attend this admission-free event. Prior to the performance, the lobby will be open beginning at 6 p.m. for the annual Holiday Raffle put on by the Band Boosters. This raffle will offer theme baskets and trays, providing a tremendous opportunity to support the band and do a little holiday shopping at the same time.
