Harvester and Montgomery Ward factories. They were treated to a free movie starring Mary Pickford. Banquets were broadcast oyer “radio phone.” So our girls made demonstrations on “Natural Brooding” and won the state contest. A clipping from the “Guide” written by Marjorie Snead, headed “Our Trip to Chicago” said this: “When we were told last August that we had won a trip to Chicago, if there was ever a happier moment in our lives we do not now recall it. And we feel sure no two prouder or happier girls ever lived lhan we were when! we boarded the rain for Chicago, November 27. Miss Burke, our chaperone, met us in Charlottesville with pullman tickets. My! we did enjoy traveling in such fine style. Wer did not have to change trains at all. We arrived in Chicago Saturday afternoon at 6 o’clock and took a taxi to La Salle Hotel where we had rooms reserved.
We had a good time^ sight-seeing Sunday, although it.was snowing a little and it was even cold enough for the children to be skating. Sunday night we went to church where special services were arranged for dub boys and girls.
Monday morning we awoke bright and early and determined to see all the city that was to be seen in one short week. That day we went to the International Livestock Exposition where we saw the champion livestock of the worid. The Prince of Wales had a beautiful herd and took prize on some of them. The Amphitheatre, the place where the show was hekf, was beautifully decorated with flags of different nations. From the show we went to the plant of Wilson and Company. Mir.'
