Observe national dub week and to show what this county has xfene in 4-H contests in the past.
One of the high points of the dub year is camp in PoweHs Fort Valley. We have had as many as forty odd members to attend camp. Last year ^jecatrse-nof Potto w hi ther whole" camp to ourselves but in Other years 4-H’ers from Rappahannock have made many friends at camp. Each dub sends at least one delegate with funds from the dub treasury and many of the cli&s send more. We hope more will go this year than ever. . * . .
Some clubs Observe Rural life Sunday which falls on the tenth of May this year. Some dubs had special church services last year and will have .them this year.
The County Coundl is making plans for a 4-H fair this fall. The County fairs which were held in 194951 had lots of 4-H exhibits, lots of homemakers* exhibits, but with judges from Blacksburg the farm exhibits just werenlt anything. There were not as many as ten plates of apples from the whole county, when they are one of the main crops. That is just an example but the fair will he strictly 4-H unless there is more real support and interest than before. The dub will have a show of some kind/ for livestock projects much like that at Dolmorrt Farm last summer. This may be combined with the fair. County Contest for girls wiH he held in the fall. Winners from club contests compete for courity honors and medals. These winners compete in the Area contest held later. Each girl gives a demonstration or models a garment. Records are important in these contests because they count more than the edmonstration. The newest county wide project is Room Improvement for girls. This group is'scheduled to meet every two about interior decorating. The series
