I had a rare experience last Tuesday morning. Rare because it is all too seldom that we experience meeting and talking with someone who is truly big, yet thoroughly humble; one who is making a great contribution towards hi* feltowman just because he loves it. Combine: brains, humility, will power, ^perservance, love, ambition and godliness into a man with a purpose in life and you’ll get an idea of the sort of person I’m trying to describe. Better yet some of you will soon have an opportunity of meeting this man. He is Ralph BeUwood, Executive Secretary-Director of Patrick Henry Boys’ Plantation, Inc. located near Brookmal, Va. He is brother to Mrs. W. R. Williamson of Woodville. He ft a minister by profession without a charge yet preaches Somewhere twice every Sunday.
Patrick Henry Boys’ Plantation, Inc., includes about 900 acres of land (“Red Hill”) developed several years ago in one of the much publicized Soil Conservation twentyyear plans completed-in-a-day.
It will be a home for teen-age boys. Red Hill will become the site of a home similar fo Nebraska’s famous Boys’ Town.
Ford Times (Feb. 1953) carries a write-up of the plan. It is endorsed by such men as: J. Edgar Hoover, Governor Battle, cx-Govemor Tuck, Judge Hoge Rex, General George C. Marshall.
