In 1927 Anna Keyser won first place in the state on poultry judging and won a free trip to Madison Square Garden Poultry show. She was unable to attend.
Our livestock team won first place in the state and went to Chicago to* •the International Livestock Exhibition. The members of the team were Ned Jones, Thomas Williams and Downing Wood. They won eighth in the national competition of twenty states. JNed Jones tied for fourth place as individual judge, sixty competing.
A dipping from the Guide follows: “Wins State Championship.” Rappahannock 4-H Stock Judging Team ' Wins State Championship. Ned Jones, Thomas Williams and Downing Wood carried away the honors this year in the stock judging contest held last week at the State Fair, winning over teams from Rockingham, Augusta, Rockbridge, Montgomery and , Warren countie?. The winners in this contest are given a free trip to the International Livestock Exposition, i Chicago, Illinds, where they will compete with teams from other states, Anna Keyser, Washingon, Va., wort a place on the State Poultry Judging team, which will compete with teams v from other states at the Madison Square Garden Poultry Show, New York City in January.
