4-H Club work could not go on without a small group of adults, the leaders. The leader attends the club meetings and learns the project requirements, helps the members prepare demonstrations and actually helps master new skills in carrying out the projects. Many leaders work with their members between the regular monthly meetings, giving cooking and sewing instruction, helping . members fill out work sheets and preparing progams. Leaders are especially helpful in the summer months when most project work is done in tile homes, such as canning and freesing foods, and some home improvement projects.
Parents can be helpful in encouraging youth, and that is one of the greatest needs in club work now. Some members are trying to carry on their work without their parents co-operation, which is hard to do. Most of the projects require little expense and are planned to make home and farm work more efficient, quicker and more fun. The parents can profit by this quite as much as the club ’member. When the parent has done all he can the leader can help'those who need more help. It is the greatest desire of the leader to help the 4-H’ers and their families accomplish the most good and create the greatest happiness possible.
There is need for more leaders to work in this county, especially men leaders. It keeps one young , to work with youth and yields many satisfying experiences.
The summer leaders for Reager . Club are Mrs, Herman Williams, Mrs. Stanley Williams, Mrs. Bradley Williams, Miss Mattie Robinson and Mrs. Barbara Gentry. Former leaders are Mrs. Louis Harrison, Miss Pauline Rutherford and Mrs. Pearl Mills.

SPORTS OF 1952 {
Wc played (two games of basketball with Boyce. Both of these games were in favor of them but the one we played here was a very close game. They only beat us by a couple of points. The girls playing on the teams were Irene Jenkins, Pauline Jenkins, Frances Walker, Faye Black, Mabel Hawkins, Eleanor Leake and Betty Rutherford. I was really proud of my team even though! we .were losers in Both games. They played wonderful. We also played two games of sofit ball with the Culpeper 4-H girls. This game was in *J une, and boy, was it hot! We were los««» in both of these g&me% too, but of course it was all because of the weather.
