At the May 3 board meeting, the Rappahannock Supervisors issued a building permit for an Alpine slide to the Rapp Ski Limited, owners of the ski area property in Harris Hollow. Supervisor chairman E. P. Luke read a letter from zoning administrator Evan Mcftear requesting that the supervisors take action on the permit because of a possible conflict of interest on his part as a former investor and secured creditor of the ski area. Chorus Concert
The Rappahannock Chorus under the direction of Gloria Harris will present its annual spring . concert Sunday, May 20 at 8 p.m. at the old Washington school building. There will be a variety of sacred, madrigal, gospel and novelty music on the program. Guests of the chorus this year will be the Rappahannock County Dancers who will be performing English, Colonial, Scottish and Romanian dances. The dancers previously performed at the Bicentennial Pageant and at the 4th of July ceremonies. Also Beverly Clark, accompanist for the chorus, will perform with Gloria Harris a set of “Hungarian Dances’’ by Johanne Brahms.
