On Saturday, May 19, the 30th running of the Rappahannock Point-to-Point Races will be held at Thornton Hill Farm, 2 miles south of Sperryville on Route 522. This colorful event begins at 11:00 a.m. with “pair races”—one for fast time and one for optimum time—and ends with the traditional foxhound race over the beautiful Rappahannock Course. Good weather is expected, with an abundance of clean mountain air.

The Rappahannock races are the grande finale of the Northern Virginia point-topoint circuit. This year they decide the winner of the coveted Seven Corners Owner-Rider Trophy. Charles “Chick” Owens on High Peak leads Roy "Tennessee” Graham on Boca Bird by only l‘/i points. They’ll be battling to the wire in an exciting winner-take-all event. ,
