Final word from the state on accreditation standing, taking into account the school board’s response to the original “accredited but warned notice,” should be received within the next few weeks, Bloomer said.
Placement Tests
Should RCHS lose its accreditation, Bloomer explained, at Tuesday’s meeting, the chances of graduating seniors being accepted in college would be affected. He said that Rappahannock students were already at a slight disadvantage, as far as acceptance into more prestigious schools, because the high school is only accredited by the state and not by the Southern Association. If the school loses its accreditation, seniors will have to take a placement test similar to College Board exams and achieve a satisfactory score in order to be admitted. Bloomer said.
