Norton was superintendent and had suggested certain improvements be made. “Some have been done,” he stated, adding that the state inspector had also made “very definite recommendations” as to bus shop improvements.
He explained later that the inspector felt the bus shop should be condemned. The inspector backed off from pushing for the action, however, when tbld by Norton that the school board was getting ready to build a new facility.
Water, Gas In Labs
Expansion plans call for two science labs with a shared preparation room. This improvement, said Bloomer, will establish a science lab setting to allow students to complete experiments required by state guidelines. Currently, lab work is hampered by facilities that include one room with gas and water outlets, one with water only and one with neither gas nor water. In the expansion, all labs will have both. The high school now has one boys bathroom and one girls bathroom located in the far end of the building next to the cafeteria. Expansion plans call for additional toilet facilities, including bathrooms for handicapped students.
