Frances Lyne maintained that pot hole damage could be reduced if the highway department would keep the drainage ditches clear.
Askew responded that assistant resident engineer Doug Bywaters was currently involved in a ditching program.
Route 640 is getting awfully rough with a lot of potholes, noted Albert Doub, in asking that his road be paved.
The road could be blacktopped, Askew answered, if its traffic count is high enough and if right-ofway is donated. “It takes action by the property owners on a road to get the right-ofway and have a road included on the six-year plan,” he explained.
C. C. Zinn also requested that the sharp turns on 640 be eliminated to make the road safer for school buses.
Noting that snow and spring thaws had undone improvements finished last year, Ralph Kissick asked that Route 633 be regraded and recraveled.
