Pressure For Donation?
John Schultz asked the resident engineer if there was any pressure that could be applied on a non-resident landowner along Route 621 who refuses to donate the necessary right-of-way along his half mile of frontage for widening the road. He noted that 20 homes with full-time residents were on the road and accounted for 37 vehicles belonging to wage earners who drove in and out every day.
Askew agreed to meet with Schultz to see if a way could be found to work around the right-of-way block. He added, however, that “if a person doesn’t want to give the right-of-way, that’s all there is to it.
