In other action, the board:
—appointed Charles K. Estes to replace George Muth who resigned recently as the board of zoning appeals representative on the planning commission,
— appointed Walter Masterson to another four year term on the planning commission,
—appointed Ruth Kilby, voting registrar, as the county’s liaison with the General Assembly to work on maps and other information relating to the 1980 census,
—held a public hearing—with no comment from the public on the $80,000 the county will receive in federal revenue sharing for the coming year. According to Luke, the money comes with no strings attached except that it be used for “the general public good.” With no remarks from any one in the audience, the supervisors agreed to deposit the money in the county’s multi-purpose general construction fund and school construction fund.
Revival Services
Revival services will begin at Reynolds Memorial Baptist Church Sunday, May 13 to May 17 each evening at 7:30 p.m. The Rev. John Ellington pastor of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church will be the guest speaker.
