Dodson and Reed of Fairfax were Sunday guests of Mrs. Lester Dodson. Thursday dinner guests of Dr. and Mrs. J. P. Snead, Jr., were Mrs. Brown Miller, Mrs. Mary Quaintance, Mrs. Carroll Quaintance, joined by Wilson Stallings of Vienna.

Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Pillar have returned home after visiting in Virginia Beach, Norfolk and Cape Hatteras.

Brad Reams of Winchester spent last week with his grandmother, Mrs. T. M. Johnston. Mrs. Andrew Reams and Morgan spent from Wednesday to Saturday with Mrs. Johnston, and Brad returned home with them. Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Meade of Charlottesville were luncheon guests Monday.

Sunday supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Atkins were Mr. and Mrs. Lacy Corbin and Gordon Corbin all of Winchester, Mrs. Ruth Campbell of Front Royal, Mr. and Mrs. F. R. Frazier and Harold, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Frazier, Michele and Michael all of Boston.

“Tall Ship”

Up Potomac

The majestic white sailtraining ship of the Coast Guard Academy, the Eagle, will be part of Norfolk’s “Harborfest" celebrations June 14-18 and will then sail up the Potomac to dock in Alexandria. June 22-25.

“Harborfest” will be a gathering of several “Tall Ships" and many smaller sailing vessels for Norfolk’s fourth annual waterfront festival. The star of the weekend event will be the Coast Guard’s square rigger. Eagle which led the Operation Sail parade in New York harbor July 4, 1976 for the Bicentennial celebration.

Eagle will then proceed to Alexandria, and will be opened to the public June 22. 2-7 p.m., June 23, noon-6 p.m., and June 25, 4-8 p.m. There will be a special visiting hour for the handicapped on June 22, 1-2 p.m. Eagle will be docked at the Franklin and Union Streets wharf area.
