No envelopes or cards measuring less than 3Vi inches high or 5 inches long will be handled by the Postal Service after July 15, according to Warrenton Postmaster Charlie Jeffries.

Any undersized mailings after that date will be returned to the sender.

The regulations also prohibit flimsy cards. In future all cards must be at least seven-thousandths of an inch thick. A government postal card has a thickness of nine-thousandths of an inch.

Art Show Set

The seventh annual Fredericksburg Art Festival, with scores of paintings, photographs and other art works by artists from across the east coast, will be held June 1 and 2 on the sidewalk of the Park and Shop Shopping Center.

The festival is a juried competition for prizes and purchase awards.

Exhibit hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. The show is sponsored by Media, the Fredericksburg artists’ association.
