If the sun will stay out for a while the strawberries should be even better this week.
Miriam Harris of Jordan River Farm, Huntly, sends these comments on strawberries.
“My most favorite way to eat strawberries these days other than right off the vine is lightly sugared or honeyed and allowed to stand until the juice starts to run, then poured over some well buttered toast and cream or milk poured on top, in other words, instant shortcake.
But if you have the time to make up the real thing, make a rich biscuit dough using good fresh butter or lard or half of each.
