The hill behind the house is the final destination for Cheri’s herbs. There, in neatly manicured rows next to strawberries, corn, tomatoes and other standard garden fare, parsley, sage, rosemary, thyme, woodruff, chives and a score of others thrive surrounded by sawdust mulch. The total effect is more one of a formal boxwood garden than a mundane vegetable plot.
Cheri’s days are full but she enjoys her work.
