NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC BY

RAPPAHANNOCK ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE

Notice is hereby given that the Rappahannock Electric Cooperative (Cooperative) has filed with the State Corporation Commission of Virginia an application for approval to revise its Wholesale Power Cost Adjustment Clause (WPCAC) and to put into effect a Temporary Surcharge Rider.

The revised WPCAC and Temporary Surcharge Rider are not intended to change the amount of the fuel revenues that the Cooperative would collect, but the revised WPCAC will shorten the lag that presently occurs in the collection of fuel expenses or in the refunding of fuel credits and will affect monthly fuel adjustment factors billed to the consumers.

The revision that the Cooperative requests to make in the WPCAC would allow a differential factor to be added to the monthly fuel charges as presently computed to correct on a six month average basis the net difference (whether increase or decrease) between the actual fuel expenses paid by the Cooperative to its wholesale supplier in the preceding six months and the fuel revenues collected by the Cooperative from its consumers in the same six months.

The implementation of the Temporary Surcharge Rider Is to recover fuel expenses that have been experienced by the Cooperative, but not yet recovered from the consumers under the present WPCAC. The Temporary Surcharge Rider will be automatically cancelled once the deferred fuel expenses have been recovered.

The proposed clause and Temporary Surcharge Rider are on file with and may be seen at the offices of the State Corporation Commission, Blanton Building, Richmond, Virginia or may be seen at the offices of the Cooperative in Fredericksburg, Virginia; Culpeper, Virginia; and Bowling Green, Virginia.

Any interested person who objects to the approval of the proposed revision in the Wholesale Power Cost Adjustment Clause and the Temporary Surcharge Rider and wishes to be heard on such objection should so advise the Commission on or before June 25, 1980, by writing to the State Corporation Commission, Document Control Center, P.O. Box 2118, Richmond, Virginia 23216.
