We will become expert fund-raisers, we will search for grants and we will offer any personal talent we have.

We will take the time to assess how to get the most for our tax dollar and we will send our children into the job market with the best we can offer them. Or we will do nothing and take our chances. To me, the gamble of doing nothing is frightening.

We can start by placing officials in office who are truly interested in all the residents of Rappahannock, who are willing to take all interests into consideration and who are fully aware of the responsibility and dignity of their offices.

We can attend public meetings to see that our governing body stays balanced and we will remove those officials who for selfish reasons refuse to govern wisely. ">

We can act like adults and unify for our common benefit or we can continue to fractionalize and watch our county become an unhealthy and unhappy place to live.

The choice is ours. If we continue along our present route of ignorant indifference I'm afraid that there will soon be no choice.

Before this happens it is our duty to ourselves and our children to follow every legal route possible, to overturn the Electoral Board’s appointment of Mr. Robert Eastham and to see that this type of irresponsible action never has a chance to happen again.
