Claybert Smoot endorsed Miller, maintaining that he “can handle tax dollars wisely.” Ruth Noce added her support for Washington’s mayor, stating that he understands the preparation young people need for college.
Kathryn Dougherty, “a taxpayer with children in the schools,” was the final speaker, supporting Eldred’s reappointment.
“I’m going to step down from the chair again and nominate Newbill Miller,” said Johnson, again finding a second from Eastham. As with the previous appointment, the vote was twoone with Christine Johnston opposed.
Before the meeting could be adjourned, Esther Settle asked the trustees how they could ignore the overwhelming support for Guy Foster and return Eastham to the board and. in the same breath, replace Eldred with Miller.

Child Care
Drop-In Child Care will be available for infants, toddlers, pre-schoolers, and school-age children at Sursum Corda Day Care Center beginning June 2.
Rates for drop-in care will be slightly higher than those for children enrolled in the regular program. Registration forms must be complete prior to a child's first day of enrollment. A limited number of dropin slots will be available Vfonday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. A parent may reserve a slot for he child several days in idvance.
