I am currently doing geneological research on the Burke family that lived in Rappahannock County (then a part of Culpeper County) in the early 1800’s. This family includes Silas Brewton Burke, Isaac Burke, and his father Sempson, who was married in 1834 to Elizabeth Weakley. To the editor:
I feel an obligation to inform you of an error in the list of names under the sports award photograph in the May 22 edition of the Rappahannock News.
After months of serious training and effort I achieved my goal. Finally, I had something to distinguish me from my twin brother. It was very disappointing to see my picture and a caption that had my brother’s name.
