4-H-Share-the-Fun. Demonstration, and Public Speaking evening will be held Thursday. March 19. at 7 p.m. at the Elementary School. Food Stamps
Food stamp recipients can stretch their food purchasing dollars by using food stamps to buy garden seeds and plants to grow their own vegetables.
The United States Department of Agriculture allows a food stamp recipient to purchase garden seeds and plants with food stamps, and estimates that up to S200 worth of vegetables can be grown for less than S30 worth of seeds and plants.
Approximately 412.000 persons benefit from the Food Stamp Program in Virginia each month and use about SI 3 million worth of food stamps.
