on the success of the Rappahannock races: “The Rappahannock Races drew the cream of the crop of jumping horses from Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania, with most of the horses so crossentered, no one knew until post time where the horses would run.
“Logistics, big point-to-point winner in 1960, is starting the 1961 season by winning the Mt. Marshall race at the Rappahannock Point-to-Point races March 4 at Thornton Hill, Sperryville.” There was a front-page photo of Miss Diane Bruce with the caption: “Senator George S. Aldhizer, II, presents the trophy to Miss Diane Bruce, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Bruce of Sperryville after she won the Mason Mountain Race at the Point-toPoint races Saturday. Miss Bruce was riding Trixie, owned by Jack Blankenbaker. ” Gina Lollobrigida and Dale Robertson were starring in “Fast and Sexy” at the Park Theatre in Front Royal.; Also in F ront Royal were William Jlolden and Nancy Kwawis < “The World of Suzie Wong".
