Races Mar. 14
The Blue Ridge Hunt Point-To-Point Races will be held at Woodley Farm, Saturday, March 14. Located just south of Berryville on Route 340, Woodley has one of the most scenic courses on the entire race circuit for its seven races and hunter pace event which will begin at 11 a.m.
Expected to participate are several nationally known point-to-point riders including Charles Fenwick, remembered for his famous Grand National win on Ben Nevis in 1980, Randy Rouse and Randy Waterman.
Laughing Dragon, last year's winner of the Sandy Baldwin Memorial, will be among the competing horses. Owned by Mrs. John Garland of Charlottesville, Dragon won his first start this year at Casanova and will be entered in the William A. Dreyer Memorial Open Timber Race at Blue Ridge. Also competing will be the local favorite. Witching Time, owned by Mrs. George P. Greenhalgh of Millwood.
