Colgan Airways Corporation of Manassas has offered a $5000.00 reward to any individual or organization that locates a Piper Super cub aircraft that has been missing since August 20, 1982.
The red and white aircraft, which was piloted by C. William Martin, Jr., left Chesterfield County Airport, outside Richmond, at 7:40 p.m. on August 20 enroute to Fredericksburg and was never seen again.
It is believed that the pilot became disoriented and that the aircraft is down in some densley wooded part of the Commonwealth. It is quite possible that the location is far from the intended route of flight from Chesterfield Airport to Shannon Airport
