In another unanimous vote, the supervisors approved a proposal presented last month by Area Agency on Aging director' Sally Morgan and local welfare director Sylvia Kreitler for Rappahannock to combine with the other four counties in the planning district in formulating a long term care plan.
Acting on vacancies on local boards after returning to often meeting from a short executive session for personnel, the supervisors unanimously approved Clarence Baldwin's recommendation of Julia Boddy for appointment to the welfare board.
Baldwin presented a petition with 126 signatures supporting Mrs. Boddy for the vacancy left by the expiration of Aileen Johnson's term. “I think she’s well qualified for the position." the Hampton District supervisor said.
Also by unanimous vote, the supervisors endorsed Latham’s recommendation of Christopher Parrish to fill the vacancy on the board of zoning appeals created by Josef Gardiner's resignation. The recommendation will be forwarded to Circuit Court Judge W. Shore Robertson who will make the actual appointment.
Following his standard practice, Robertson will
schediile a day in Rappahannock to hear comments from local citizens before naming someone to the BZA. The date will be announced in upcoming edition of the R*Pf#ltannock News.
