you survive all the great dances every night and the interesting classes, you'll have a great time at 4-H overnight camp. The counselors turned out to be very “sociable” and just flat out wild. Except for the fact that my provisions ran out too soon, everything was perfect. Occasional pillow fights and practical jokes never got out of hand so they were allowed in moderation. Another good thing about our week’s stay was that it didn't rain much like it normally does at camp except for one night.
I definitely recommend 4H camp to all who are interested in having a fun week in the summer. This year, camp only offered an archery range, a large swimming pool, partially finished but usable tennis courts, a pond for canoeing, dorms and a volleyball court.
1 say "only" because next year facilities will be expanded to include basketball courts, soccer fields, baseball diamonds and horse stables and the camp will be able to accommodate 200 people a week. For this year’s session, only a hundred or so kids came from various counties because that's all the camp would hold. If l wasn’t too old. I’d go next year.
Interest in the 4-H idea in other countries was stimulated bv club members in Connecticut, Michigan, Nebraska and Vermont who attended the World's Poultry Congress in Ottawa, Canada in 1927. Today, there are 82 countries around the world with programs similar to 4-H.
