and check out the camp. Jim and I decided to go get settled in and sit in our room because it looked like it was going to rain. After we had sat there for about ten minutes, the punk rocker counselor walked in our room. Well, after talking a couple of minutes I found that I was totally wrong in my judgement of him. His name was Mike, he taught art class in junior high in West Virginia and had just cut his hair so he wouldn't get hot.
Dinner time rolled around and we all ate "food.” Needless to say, it didn’t agree with my picky palate. We then all retired to our rooms after various activities. That night I realized that the camp gave you a lot of free time and the only way to have fun was to go out and do activities.
We woke up early around 7 a.m. and since we went to bed around midnight, not too many people got up. As soon as everyone stirred, we squeezed down breakfast and had flag lowering. I went back to my room and hit my provisions (a box or two of doughnuts, some Doritos, Granola clusters, etc.). Jim then told me to get ready to go swimming because it was our first class. After that I had canoeing and archery—if I survived the freon-cold water. I did survive and sort of enjoyed it. That’s when the week went whizzing by.
I hardly had an opportunity to realize it before it was the end of the week and time to go home. For one reason or another, there is no way I could possibly write about all the fun things we did. All I can say is that if
