Increasingly important in today's housing market is the single woman. Many are buying homes, either by themselves, or together with other women. This trend reflects the growing number of single women in the population, and the growing number of affluent single women as a result of new occupational opportunities. It also reflects the fact that financial institutions are more willing to lend money for home purchase to single women (as result of legal action and moral persuastion by women's groups).
