An intensive search which included parts of Rappahannock County was conducted by the Civil Air Patrol immediately following the incident and rewards were offered at that time. The effort was finally terminated after many hours of fruitless search both by land and air.
Now with the approaching hunting season it is believed that hunters may turn up the missing aircraft and Charles J. Colgan, President of Colgan Airways, has posted the reward offer.
