With the school board’s decision to apply for a special use permit for the proposed central office and vehicle maintenance facility now supported by two legal opinions, Wakefield representative Robert Eastham has carried his fight against the permit application to a new forum.
In a letter dated October 1 to supervisor chairman J. R. Latham. Eastham requests the Rappahannock board of supervisors to direct the commonwealth’s attorney to ask for an Attorney General’s ruling as to whether the permit is required.
In the letter to Latham, Eastham noted that zoning administrator David Konick had informed the school board and superintendent Robert Estabrook in August that a special use permit must be applied for and granted by the board of zoning appeals before the projected new building could be constructed. ‘‘Mr. Konick's reading of the zoning ordinance, as presently enacted, was correct,” Eastham added.
