Craft Fair Opens
County craftspeople Jeanne Drevas and Stephen Shaffer will be among the 145 exhibitors from 18 states and Washington, D.C. at the 7th annual Richmond Craft Fair, November 12-14.
Drevas' baskets and Shaffer’s weavings will be shown at the three-day event along with stained glass, fiber art, porcelain, metal folk sculpture, handmade paper and other crafts representing every medium. The fair will also feature craft demonstrations, a children’s section where youngsters will be able to make take-home masks, specialized gift wrapping and a country food emporium.
Hours for Craft Fair 7 will be 8-10 p.m. November 12, 11 a.m.-7 p.m. November 13 and noon - 6 p.m. November 13. Admission is $3 for adults, $2.50 for students with children under 12 admitted free.
Art Exhibit Opens
A month long exhibit of fine equine art, featuring the works of many renowned local and national artists, will be open to the public throughout November at the Commissioned Works Gallery in Middleburg. Sponsored by the American Academy of Equine Art, the exhibit will feature works of art depiciting the horse in many settings, exclusive of cowboys and Indians. These will include paintings in oil, acrylic and watercolors, drawings, pastels and graphics, as well as many exquisite pieces of sculpture.
The exhibit will be open to the public daily beginning Saturday. Nov. 6, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. except Monday and Tuesday, and on Sunday from 12 noon to 5 p.m.
