me started out on banjo. Clark of Clark Gun Shop on (Rt.) 29. I used to go down and take lessons on Wednesday nights. Of course there were others who helped me along the way. When I started, musicians were looked down on, the banjo especially. People were not familiar with it and what it could do. As time went on, it became more popular. Now, banjo is one of the most popular instruments. Everybody’s picking on one.
"Clark was a good teacher. 1 never forget when I practiced ‘Cripple Creek’ here for a week and I thought I had it down good and I went down there. I was gonna see just how good I was at that thing.
