On October 29, the Wakefield Owls upped their overall soccer record to 7-2-1 as they soundly beat Tandem School in Charlottesville by a 6-2 score.
Wakefield dominated early in the game but couldn’t capitalize on numerous scoring opportunities. The drought ended quickly as right wing Frans Hansen, taking a pass from center forward John O'Neill, scored his fourth goal of the season. With that goal. Wakefield’s offense settled down and began a scoring assault on the Tandem goalkeeper. Again it was O’Neill passing off for his second assist of the game, this time to halfback Gaston “The Bear" deBearn. The Bear boosted the score to 3-0 as he received a powerful boot from the foot of fullback Rob Dickey and lightly headed the ball over the goalie.
