It is surprising the number of professing Christians who hold Halloween parties at their churches. If they would read Deuteronomy 18:9-14 they would see what God says about such practices. Verse 9 "When thou art come into the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee, thou shall not learn to do after the abominations of those nations”. Isaiah 47:8-15 elaborates on this. The Apostle Paul cast the demon of divination out of the damsel in Acts 16:16-18. As a result of St. Paul’s teachings and knowing the experience of the seven sons of Sceva being overcome by one evil spirit (Acts 19:11-20) many Ephesians . .which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men. .
Many people are Snared by the devil through what they consider innocent practices: horoscopes, ouija boards (used in the current High School play), fortune telling, hypnosis and yoga to mention a few. Public and school libraries abound with books about witches, magicians, eastern religions, wizards and magic. Colleges offer courses on witchcraft and Saturday morning cartoons teach it in a more subtle form. There are many old houses about which the owners jokingly refer to “their ghost”. These so-called ghosts are in reality demon spirits who are allowed to occupy the premises. Be assured they are NOT harmless.
