has given enthusiastically accepted performances at the Virginia State Fair, the Mosque in Richmond, the D.C. Hilton and the Capitol Center. Bernice Pearson has offered to help a sister group get started in Rappahannock County. She will conduct workshops for leaders, loan costumes and props, schedule joint performances with Fauquier s Young Dominion and assist in any other way possible. We have the talented youngsters. All we need are dedicated adult volunteers.
Our kids who can sing, dance, play a musical instrument, reel off a line of patter at the emcee’s microphone, operate a sound system and otherwise contribute to an evening of entertainment deserve a chance to shine. They worked wonders with just one day of practice and delighted the audience at last Saturday s performance. Think what they can do with a 4-H performing arts group of their own.
We urge adults interested in giving our young people that chance to contact the county Extension office or Dawn Fisher, the Booster Club’s chairman for the Friendship Follies. Rappahannock’s super kids who performed on stage Saturday night and others waiting for the opportunity deserve the spotlight.
