Association has nominated the county’s General District Court judge to sit on the new court. Bar Association president Douglas Baumgardner has sent letters to Hopewell Delegate C. Hardaway Marks and Henrico Senator William F. Parkerson who will overview the screening of nominees from the various bar associations. Final selection would be made by the Democratic Caucus and the State Senate, according to Baumgardner. He says approximately 40 sitting judges and practicing lawyers are currently contending for the nine slots.
