So far January has been 8&stegrees colder than normal, Weather Service spokesmen told the Post. Only a few days during the first three weeks of this month have reached the freezing mark in the capital.
Sperryville weather watcher Dennis Wingfield counted 14 days so far this month when the local, temperature did not reach freezing, “so I guess it’s on the chilly side,” he said Tuesday.
On Monday, when the temperature hit a high of 32, it was the first time in nine days straight that it had reached freezing in Sperryville, Wingfield said.
