Hazardous Driving
It was the hazardous driving conditions on those back roads which caused school closings to become fairly routine in Rappahannock County during recent weeks. “A week ago yesterday (Tuesday) we went and let out at 9:30,” recalled Wingfield, a science teacher at the high school.
This Tuesday marked official snow day number eight, according to school superintendent Robert Estabrook. He added that no plans have been made yet for any make-up schedule. He said he will wait until the staff is back at work before reaching any decisions. The high school had been interrupted during the midst of exams, Estabrook noted.
