Alexander has practiced law in both Fairfax and Warrenton. Besides his present position as General District Court judge, he was a Substitute District Court judge from 1974-1978 and also a Chancery for the Circuit Courts of Fairfax, Loudoun, Fauquier and Rappahannock.
In nominating him, the Bar Association called Alexander “eminently qualified.”
