Stevan and Margarite Nikolajevic report a particularly gala weekend. They went to Crystal City to see Priscilla Alden, Wellington Domas for lunch and tea with Arthur and Chantal Bolstein. Also they attended a party in D.C. last Saturday given by Clothile DeMilleret-Bames. Then took son Alex and daughter-in-law Keri to dinner.
Son Paul Nikolajevic is spending the week in the retreat center in Syria, they say. He went for the winter rest and renewal weekend and intends to stay longer.
All of the above was much more satisfying for the Nikolajevic family than the events reported from those who stayed in Castleton on Sunday. Their social news consists of what David Konick calls “just obits for the Redskins.”
Mary Tauss says even her aunt Barbara Stillman from Florida was disappointed in the score—the only marring aspect of her trip. She eiyoyed visiting Philadelphia, Castleton and Culpeper and returned home Monday. Mary’s mother Virginia Bertram had gone back to Oakton on Saturday.
Judy and Tracy Hitt watched the Redskins game with Gene and Donna Fisher, Wayne and Lewis. Everybody needed cheering up after that. (By the way Tracy’s birthday is coming up on February 7. She’ll be a big eight.)
Milton Switzer says the people who turned out to the program at Hope Hill Sunday night enjoyed meeting The Goettes Family and hearing about their missionary work in the Phillippines, but there were only about 25 people there. He blamed the weather partly—but “some were glued to the ’Skins game, too,” he supposed.
He took the Goettes family home for refreshments after the meeting and so they could meet Mrs. Switzer. She’s “doing very well” after her recent hert atack, he says, but wasn’t able to get to the church for the program.
