There’s only one problem with all this. “We need listings. The people are coming out and looking to buy.”
While Leake feels refreshed by the brisk market, he wasn’t as badly discouraged by the recent recession as brokers in other counties. The high interest rates of two years ago definitely decreased the number of his sales, but “we had quite a few cash buyers looking for bargains during that period and got them.”
Leake says the weather has hindered some of his prospective buyers from seeing houses, but the spring will bring them to Rappahannock in greater numbers.
