Maybe his news wasn’t that dramatic when they called a week ago Wednesday to check on the area’s first big April shower. In fact, when Wingfield reported 42/100ths of an inch of rain that afternoon, he says the television meteorologist “sounded disappointed.”
Still, there were a total of 2.10 inches of precipitation through the first four days of the month. That may be a short time on which to base any predictions, but Wingfield says it’s already 2Vi inches wetter than last year “which was also a wet spring.”
