Funeral services for William H. ChadweU, 61, of Ayer, Massachusetts were conducted on Thursday in Ayer. Burial was in the National Cemetery of Massachusetts at Bourne.

Mr. Chadwell was born at the old Remount Station near Front Royal, son of the late John D. and Mattie Chadwell. He had lived in Ayer for a number of years where he was employed by the Shanklin Corporation.

A veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict, he served with the U. S. Army Medical Corps for 26 years before retiring.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Marley Chadwell; one son, David Chadwell of Ayer and two daughters, Patricia Chadwell of Boston, Mass, and Kathleen Mohr of Shirley, Mass.

Additional survivors- include five brothers, Aubrey ChadweU of Middletown, Lawrence ChadweU of Huntly, Robert ChadweU of Alexandria, John J. ChadweU Jr. of FayettesviUe, N. C. and Alfred ChadweU of Ohio and three sisters, Bertha Williams, Mary Hickerson and Anne Mauck, all of Front Royal.
