About 80 people, most of them res- * idents of Wakefield District, attended.. The meeting was the first of a series scheduled to take place by district through mid-December. The purpose of the community meetings: To gamer public input and answer questions regarding the county’s proposed zoning ordinance.
One question that continues to be asked is whether or not the Planning Commission will consider tabling the proposed zoning ordinance and attempt to amend the county’s 1973 Zoning Ordinance, which is currently in place. Said Robert Eastham, one of 12 Wakefield residents who spoke: “What is . your position with regard to this borrowed ordinance?”
Eastham charged that the board was ignoring “what the people want and have demonstrated.” To illustrate * his point, Eastham presented the board with 500 signitures on a petition calling for tabling of the proposed zoning ordinance. Eastham said the Rapr
